What do job and visit statuses mean?

A job's status tracks the whole piece of work, and each visit has its own status too.

Why does my job say…

  • Unscheduled, Scheduled or Anytime: the job is active. It has no visit, a visit with a time, or a visit with a date and no time.
  • In progress: a visit has started.
  • In progress · ready to complete: every visit is done. Finish the job.
  • Overdue: an active job past its scheduled end date.
  • Completed: done.
  • Needs invoice: completed, with no invoice yet. Create one, or choose No invoice needed. See Why does my job say Needs invoice?
  • Partially invoiced: shows instead of Needs invoice when only part of the job is invoiced.
  • Canceled: it will not be done.

Why does my visit say…

  • Planned: on the calendar, not started.
  • In progress: someone clocked in.
  • Completed: clocked out. Draft timesheet entries are created for the assigned technicians.
  • Canceled: dropped, with a reason.

Visits are never invoiced on their own. Invoices come from the job.

Who can do this

Changing jobs needs Manage jobs, and scheduling visits needs Manage schedule. Every role holds both by default.
