Zaras is building the operating layer for the trades — one record that carries a service business from first call to deposit cleared. Our team is small, hands-on, and field-first. About the role

Own the single-record spine that powers Zaras — the data model, the field write path, and the office surfaces that read from it. You will be on-call in a small rotation and drive simplifications that reduce surface area.

Responsibilities

• Own the job-record schema, migrations, backfills, and rollbacks.
• Build and maintain the offline-first write path used by the field app.
• Ship dispatch and money surfaces end to end — React, edge functions, SQL.
• Run a quarterly ride-along and turn it into concrete product changes.

Basic qualifications

• 4+ years shipping production web applications.
• 3+ years with TypeScript and React.
• 2+ years with Postgres, including non-trivial migrations.
• Willingness to be on-call (≈one week in five).

Preferred skills and experience

• Offline-first or eventually-consistent systems in production.
• Supabase, edge functions, or row-level security.
• Vertical SaaS (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing).
• Comfort reading Swift or Kotlin to debug a field-app issue.
